When merchant Frank Olof Jansson started his juice factory in Kumla in 1948, he could not believe what success his products would do.
It all started when he, like most other merchants in the late 1930s, took the berries and fruit from their customers as payment. Eventually a business grew and in 1948 Frank set up a disused carpentry. The factory was built on fast and was soon ready to make both juice and jam. During the first year 400 tonnes were produced (compared to the current production of nearly 22 000 tonnes). Sales were modest SEK 250 000 to the company which then went by the name of Corona.
By this time, Frank Olof Jansson broadly office in your pocket. Literally. On one occasion when he was on his way from Kumla head office in Västerås, he turn around and drive back. The recipe for boiling juice he had hastily stuffed into his pocket. Only when he came back with the recipe could production begin.
The big break came in 1952 when one-liter bottles of orange juice was launched on the Swedish market. In this context, we also launched the brand BOB ®. The impact was huge. Over one million bottles were sold in the first year.
Today, strawberry juice from BOB is the largest juice and totally sold 7 million bottles of this juice every year. Procordia took BOB from the ICA in 1996 and has since continued to develop the brand and its products by continually developing content, flavor and packaging.
Then as now, BOB is a brand that has high standards of fruit and berries.
